Job Description - Senior Finance System Officer


At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners – from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training.  


 



  • Ongoing Full time 

  • Located in Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available 

  • Salary: Clerk Grade 9/10 with salary ranging from $129,464 to $142,665 + super and annual leave loading

About the role 


 


 


The Senior Finance System Officer leads the development and delivery of projects to enhance Finance systems and data to ensure Finance school systems are continually improved to more effectively and efficiently support school financial management.

Some of the responsibilities include however not limited to: 


 



  • Lead the development of a systems and data governance framework and architecture 

  • Set the direction around the use of Finance systems and data and work with other Finance teams to implement frameworks and architecture  

  • Lead the design and implementation of data quality / assurance mechanisms as well as initiatives to support the ongoing accuracy and integrity of finance data. 

  • Lead the development and ongoing monitoring and maintenance of finance systems and data governance  

  • Support the design and delivery of projects to implement systems and data governance. 

  • Support the delivery of Finance strategic reform projects by providing advice and linkages with systems knowledge and skills. 

  • Influence and negotiate with stakeholder to obtain consensus for change initiatives to facilitate scoping and setting business priorities 


 


About you  


 



  • Demonstrated experience working with finance systems is highly regarded 

  • Demonstrated experience working in projects is desirable 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 

  • Be able to influence stakeholders at all levels  

  • Be able to work in an environment of change

  • Qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent knowledge, skills and experience 

  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.

Renewal is not required after the WWCC expires, as long as you remain in a non–child-related role. Employer obligations only apply while the WWCC is valid.
