We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Financial Accountant to join our dynamic team in Melbourne. This role is integral to maintaining financial integrity and providing insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making in a fast-paced commercial office fit-out environment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manage accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and collections
Oversee accounts payable and payroll functions
Provide meaningful project and financial analysis, delivering reports that support business decision-making
Reconcile general ledger accounts and maintain accurate financial records for month-end and year-end processes
Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements to drive efficiency
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies
Be hands-on and able to cover for other finance staff during periods of leave
Qualifications and Experience:
CPA or CA qualification
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in accounting or finance
Proven expertise in financial and project reporting, as well as financial controls
Experience in the construction industry or a prior role in an accounting firm will be highly regarded
Demonstrated experience in managing people and leading teams
Skills and Knowledge:
Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of key financial functions
Advanced proficiency in Excel
Strong technical accounting, reporting, and financial analysis skills
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement capabilities
High attention to detail while maintaining a strategic, big-picture approach
Strong organisational skills with a methodical and meticulous work style
A team player with exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
