A leading large-scale infrastructure business based in Sydney CBD is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join its high-performing finance team. Reporting directly to an experienced Financial Controller and working within a finance function of more than 10 professionals, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to a complex, fast-paced environment while helping to develop and mentor other members of the team.

The Role

As Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and efficiency of the financial close process while supporting the broader finance team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and coordinate the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency
• Prepare and review financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Partner closely with the Financial Controller to maintain strong financial governance and reporting standards
• Coach and mentor junior accountants within the team, supporting capability development and best practices
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline reporting and controls
• Assist with audit processes and technical accounting matters
• Work within SAP S/4HANA, ensuring accurate financial data management and reporting
• Collaborate with stakeholders across finance and the wider business

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong technical accounting background combined with the ability to influence and support others within a team environment.

You will ideally have:

• CA / CPA qualification (or equivalent)
• 5+ years' experience in financial accounting, ideally within a large or complex organisation
• Strong experience managing month-end reporting cycles
• Experience mentoring or coaching junior finance staff
• Exposure to SAP S/4HANA (highly desirable)
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
