Senior Financial Accountant

Our client is a specialist provider of vital infrastructure services, supporting projects across commercial and industrial environments. With a strong focus on safety, reliability, and technical excellence, as well as a strong pipeline of work, our client is keen to attract savvy Senior Financial Accountant to join the team in newly created role.

The Role

As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will report directly to the CFO and play a vital role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the finance function. You will also have the opportunity to get involved in process improvement and lead initiatives in this area. Your duties will be as follows, but not limited to:

• Payroll Processing & Compliance Handle end‑to‑end weekly payroll, timesheet validation, labour cost allocation, leave processing, pay rate updates, and employee onboarding across internal systems.
• Financial Reconciliations & Reporting Support Complete daily and weekly bank/credit reconciliations, maintains the general ledger, and assist with month‑end reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Systems & Data Integration Management Manages accurate data flow between operational and finance systems.
• Taxation & Statutory Lodgements Prepare payroll tax, BAS returns, TPAR, LSL contributions, and other statutory submissions in line with required deadlines.
• Continuous Improvement contribute to process improvements, cross‑department collaboration, and operational efficiency.

Your Profile

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience within similar accounting and finance roles and be CA or CPA qualified or working toward their qualification.

• Demonstrated experience managing stakeholders.
• Excellent commutation skills.
• CA or CPA qualified, or nearing completion.
• EBA payroll experience is non-negotiable.
• Previous experience using Xero and strong Excel skills.
