Senior Financial Accountant

Senior Financial Accountant | North Ryde | Hybrid Working | $130,000-$150,000 + Super + Bonus

We are partnering with a fast-growing financial services organisation to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant into their high-performing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant to join a business experiencing significant growth and expansion through strategic partnerships and joint ventures.

Reporting into Senior Finance Leadership, this role will take ownership of a significant joint venture alongside a portfolio of wholly owned entities. You will play a key role across financial reporting, audit, and continuous improvement initiatives while mentoring junior team members within the broader finance function.

This position is ideal for a commercially minded and technically capable finance professional who enjoys working in a collaborative and evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing month-end reporting processes, including journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Preparing financial commentary and supporting board reporting requirements
• Taking ownership of reporting across a major joint venture and multiple entities within the group structure
• Supporting year-end reporting and external audit processes
• Mentoring and supporting junior accountants within the finance team
• Partnering with stakeholders across finance and treasury to deliver financial insights and operational support
• Contributing to process improvement initiatives and finance transformation projects
• Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and financial controls

About You:

• CA/CPA qualified with 5+ years' experience
• Background within Big 4 or Mid-Tier accounting firms, ideally making your second move into industry
• Strong technical accounting capability, including financial reporting and balance sheet management
• Group consolidation experience will be highly regarded
• Experience within financial services environments is highly desirable
• Exposure to process improvement and finance transformation initiatives
• Strong communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholders across finance and treasury
• Analytical, proactive, and collaborative approach with a continuous improvement mindset
