Job Description - Senior Financial Accountant

3-Month Contract (possible extension)

Our client is a well-established international furniture manufacturer, renowned for its premium furniture and lifestyle brands distributed across more than 40 countries globally. With operations spanning multiple international markets, they are seeking an experienced Interim Financial Accountant with strong hands-on SAP experience to support their Australian finance function.

This is an excellent opportunity for an autonomous accountant who can step into the business, take ownership of the day-to-day financial accounting function and ensure continuity across month-end and reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the month-end close process, including journals, balance sheet reconciliations and monthly reporting.
Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS).
Oversee day-to-day financial accounting activities within SAP.
Support statutory reporting requirements, liaising with external accountants.
Provide regular financial reporting and updates to the overseas head office.
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure the smooth running of finance operations.
Facilitate a seamless handover to the incoming Finance Manager.

About You

Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
5+ years relevant accounting experience, ideally within SME or distribution environment.
Hands-on experience using SAP , with the ability to navigate the system confidently across day-to-day financial accounting activities.
Strong understanding of month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations, BAS and statutory reporting.
Comfortable working autonomously and managing competing priorities with minimal supervision.
Confident in communicating with senior stakeholders and overseas finance teams.
