Job Description - Senior Financial Accountant

About the role:
  
This role is responsible for providing assistance to the Transactional Accounting and Reporting and Analysis Manager with the consolidation and preparation of all internal and external reporting obligations. detailed reconciliations and works collaboratively with both Australian and US teams.
Success in this role is ability to process a high volume of work with minimal supervision, having a can-do attitude, ability to problem solve complex issues and a focus on continuous process improvement.
  
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • - Management/Financial Reporting & Financial Analysis
  • - Oversee the month-end close process, including journal entries, financial reconciliations, and preparation and review of management reporting deliverables, ensuring compliance with US SOX reporting requirements.
  • - Conduct profit and loss analysis, including trend analysis and cost control measures.
  • - Prepare balance sheet reconciliations in alignment with the month-end schedule.
  • - Perform financial analysis and variance reporting, challenging business results and ensuring correct application of cost channelling principles.
  • - Maintain accurate fixed asset records and manage asset capitalization to ensure precise recording and compliance.
  • - Handle tax accounting and compliance, focusing on transfer pricing and coordinating with external tax specialists.
  • - Compliance Reporting, assist in the delivery of the annual financial close processes and the filing of audited statutory accounts.
  • - Ensure compliance with US SOX regulations, providing technical advice to drive business outcomes.
  • - Support external and internal audit processes and other regulatory reporting requirements.
  • - Maintain controls over financial reporting processes to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • - Develop and maintain strong internal relationships to promote coordinated financial management practices across the organization, acting as a trusted adviser to the programs, payroll, and transactional teams.
  
The successful candidate:

Ideally you will be 2-5 years PQE and have worked in audit or business services. You will be eager to learn, open to developing your financial reporting and management reporting skill set and seeking a role which requires high attention to detail and demanding internal stakeholders.
