The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded Senior FP&A Analyst to join a high-performing finance team, reporting to an experienced FP&A Manager.

This role will see you take ownership of financial planning and analysis for one of the organisation's largest and most critical research programmes - a $120M portfolio with approximately 70 headcount and 30 individual projects.

You will operate as a true business partner, working closely with both internal and external stakeholders, including researchers, lab teams, and a network of 12 hospitals involved in clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for a major $120M research programme
• Partner closely with programme leads, researchers, and operational stakeholders to provide meaningful financial insights
• Manage and oversee financials across ~30 individual projects within the programme
• Support financial management of over 300 grants (circa $200M in value), ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Work with external stakeholders including hospitals and clinical trial partners to manage funding and reporting requirements
• Drive strong business partnering across research teams, translating financial data into actionable insights
• Support and optimise reporting across ERP systems (Dynamics 365 / SAP or similar)
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, including automation and AI-driven efficiencies
• Help enhance system utilisation and reporting capability, ensuring stakeholders are better equipped with financial information
• Provide training and support to non-finance stakeholders to improve financial understanding and system usage
• Contribute to improving relationships between finance and research teams by enhancing communication and service delivery
• Support the wider FP&A team on additional research groups and ad hoc analysis

About You

• CA or CPA qualified
• Proven experience in a Senior FP&A Analyst or similar business partnering role
• Prior experience within healthcare, medical research, education, or a similar sector is essential
• Strong experience working with large, complex budgets and multiple funding streams (e.g. grants)
• Demonstrated ability to partner with non-finance stakeholders, particularly in research or technical environments
• Experience working with large ERP systems (Dynamics 365, SAP, or similar)
• Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate data into insights
• Experience improving reporting processes, systems, or automation is highly regarded
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across diverse stakeholder groups
