Senior Geotechnician

As a Senior Geotechnician you will:

• Oversee and provide site supervision for construction projects, ensuring strict adherence to quality control and assurance standards. The role is mainly a site-based role across multiple sites.
• Undertake site activities including earthworks supervision (Level 1), supervise labour, equipment, and materials, and maintain rigorous safety and quality records.
• Collaborate with project teams, communicate progress to managers, and contribute to project success.
• Comply with role specific SHEQ obligations.
• Lead and foster a good safety culture to ensure the safety and well-being of all staff within the team.
• Foster an engaged and high performing workforce, with a focus on mentoring, training, and development.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues from all parts of the WSP business. 
• Ensure compliance with all corporate governance, business system, quality and risk management obligations. 
• Provide input on multiple projects of varying complexity and size.
• Seek information to understand client needs and effectively anticipate and meet client needs including coordination with other disciplines.

What you’ll bring:

• Typically, 10 to 15  years’ experience with a background in laboratory testing and earthworks supervision. Your knowledge will be leveraged to mentor and teach junior engineers in construction activities 

• Experience in medium to large civil infrastructure construction, with a focus on Quality Control and Assurance.  
• Experience in Level 1 (GITA) and 2 (GTA) earthworks supervision as per AS 3798 requirements.
• Experience in earthworks testing and compaction.
• Familiar with in situ testing equipment including DCPs, with PANDA testing knowledge preferable.
• Previous geotechnical instrumentation experience will be well-regarded but is not essential.  
• Strong team player with excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills.  
• Commitment to Occupational Health & Safety and a high level of attention to detail. Experience in earthworks and liner installation (desirable).  
• Drivers' licence (4WD) and willingness to travel to assignments.
• Computer literacy including all Windows applications with an emphasis on MS Teams, SharePoint, MS Excel, and MS Word.
