The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Industrial Relations Advisor to join our national Industrial Relations team. This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering strategic IR outcomes across a diverse and complex business, partnering with operational leaders, People & Culture teams and senior stakeholders to drive best-practice industrial and employee relations initiatives.

Reporting to the National Industrial Relations Manager, you will provide expert advice and support across enterprise bargaining, dispute resolution, compliance, workforce planning and industrial strategy while helping the business achieve its operational and commercial objectives. 

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to develop and implement industrial relations strategies.
• Provide practical, commercially focused advice on Industrial Relations and Employee Relations matters.
• Lead and support enterprise agreement negotiations and administration.
• Manage and resolve industrial disputes and complex employee relations issues.
• Engage with unions, clients, tribunals and industry stakeholders.
• Deliver training, coaching and mentoring to leaders and People & Culture professionals.
• Support tender and bid activities to ensure industrial compliance and competitiveness.
• Monitor legislative developments and ensure business compliance with the Fair Work Act and associated obligations.
• Analyse IR trends and reporting data to inform decision-making.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Employment Law or a related discipline.
• Significant experience (5+ years) in Industrial Relations and Employee Relations.
• Demonstrated experience across enterprise bargaining, dispute management and workforce consultation.
• Strong knowledge of the Fair Work Act, modern awards and enterprise agreements.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to influence outcomes and provide pragmatic advice in complex environments.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working within construction, engineering, infrastructure, mining, utilities or other heavily unionised industries will be highly regarded.
