Senior Landscape Architect - Growth-Minded Organization

A council 2 hours west of Melbourne CBD is looking for a Senior Landscape Architect to join their team covering long service leave.

• Initial 3 month contract that will turn into 1 year if it is the right fit
• Senior Landscape Architect Band 7
• Hourly rates will depend on experience - Roughly $60-$70 p/h plus super
• 2 days in the office/ 3 days from home
• Full time hours/ will consider part timers
• Design focused role
• assisting with the documentation and construction stages of parks and reserves
• Start ASAP
• Must be able to hit the ground running

Key Responsibility Areas
Design capacity
• Develop public realm projects from feasibility through concept and sketch design, preparation of functional layouts, design development and documentation as part of an in-house design team
• Prepare or manage preparation of high- quality design collateral including visualisations where required for community, stakeholder and funding body engagement purposes
• Establish and deliver designs and updates to designs, feedback on projects and resolve design issues to agreed project timelines.
Project Management and Procurement
• Coordinate and manage projects, contracts and funding agreements to ensure that services provide the specified outcomes and are delivered effectively, within budget and against pre-determined timelines
• Project manage components of public realm design projects which are both undertaken internally and those which are outsourced
• Undertake procurement for relevant design projects by:
o Developing tenders, Expression of Interest (EOI) documentation, contract documentation and consultant’s briefs;
o Coordinating tender processes with Council’s Procurement Officer;
o Assessing EOI, tender and consultants’ submissions and awarding contracts in accordance with Council’s financial delegations and contracting processes;
o Referring recommendations for tenders and EOIs to the appropriate delegated authority for approval prior to awarding the contract
