The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our Legal team at Crown Melbourne on a full-time permanent basis.

This is a pivotal role within a dynamic and progressive legal function, providing high-quality legal advice across all aspects of Crown Melbourne’s operations. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, supporting day-to-day business activities, ensuring compliance, and helping to navigate complex legal matters. This role offers variety, challenge, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced environment.

You will be responsible for:

• Providing timely, commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of business matters.
• Drafting, negotiating, and advising on contracts including goods, services, consultancy, leases, and IT.
• Promoting compliance with legislative and contractual obligations.
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders to proactively identify legal risks and solutions.
• Liaising with external counsel on complex legal issues.
• Assisting in the development of policies, procedures, and training on legal matters.
• Supporting the General Counsel – Crown Melbourne on strategic legal initiatives.

About You

You’re a confident and commercially minded legal professional who thrives in a collaborative environment. You enjoy partnering with the business, solving complex problems, and providing pragmatic legal advice that supports strategic outcomes.

You will also bring:

• A minimum of 8 years post-admission experience, including at least 3 years in-house.
• Strong experience in drafting and advising on a broad range of contractual and commercial matters.
• Employment law and litigation experience (preferred but not essential).
• Admission to practice as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court of Victoria.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
• High level of computer literacy and attention to detail.
