Senior Legal Counsel, Corporate Commercial - ASX Listed Technology Organisation - Leading Industry P

JLegal is partnering with an ASX:200, digital infrastructure organisation - a leader in cutting edge cloud infrastructure, cyber security, data centres and telecommunication. Report to General Counsel in a dynamic legal team to support the business across a wide range of corporate, commercial and technology matters. 

The successful candidate will bring extensive technology experience and exceptional stakeholder skills to create and maintain relationships with internal clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• General Advisory including, drafting and negotiating telecommunications and hosting supply and wholesale contracts / service schedules and advising on legal issues
• Additional legal work, including: IP, insurance or property and lease work
• Supporting the business, Group General Counsel and Company Secretary with corporate activities, such as, M&A opportunities and ASX issues
• Advising sales and commercial teams on legal and commercial challenges arising under customer contracts
• Working with the Finance Team to problem solve legal issues appearing in the aged debtors list
• Assist commercial personnel with the preparation of responses to customer tenders, with particular emphasis on reviewing and preparing legal responses to any proposed terms and conditions
• Negotiate customer contracts in collaboration with Bid Teams, Deal Desk, Sales and Sales Support Teams
• Development of contracting processes and procedure strategies to identify and manage legal risk within the group
• participation in the ongoing review and improvement of the legal department’s practices, workflows, and processes.

The Successful Candidate:

• Qualified lawyer / admitted to practice in NSW with at least 6 years PQE
• Trained in a leading law firm and built your skills and reputation in a high performance in-house role 
• Excellent negotiation skillset with technology contracts including, issues, delivery and implementation
• Self-directed, takes initiative and personally motivated to deliver under pressure
• Exceptional stakeholder management, team building and relationship building skills
• Strong analytic, investigation, and prediction skills
