Job Description - Senior Lines Design Engineering Officer

About your new role:

The Senior Lines Design Engineering Officer is responsible for the leadership, management, and supervision of the Lines Design Engineering team members, and providing a high standard of technical expertise to design and external customers. We have multiple opportunities that can be based at multiple Major EQL locations, including Brisbane, Toowoomba, Maryborough, Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsville and Cairns.

Currently there are multiple role opportunities available including:

  • Senior Lines Design Engineering Officer – specialising in complex Distribution (Overhead / Underground), Distribution Substation, Earthing and Public Lighting Engineering projects.

The role supervises, co-ordinates, leads and participates in project teams which perform cost effective overhead and underground line design work for transmission, sub-transmission, and special distribution projects, to ensure efficient production of safe designs and enable safe and efficient effective construction.

With flexi-working and a 9 or 10 day fortnight in place, the salary band is $149,866 - $ 158,869 for 9 days and $169,347-179,519 for 10 days, plus superannuation of 12.75%. The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant’s knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in this position. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Energy Queensland Union Collective Agreement 2020 . About you:

Important to the success of your role is your:

  • Associate Degree of Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Advanced technical knowledge and experience related to the engineering design, construction, and maintenance required for transmission, distribution, and communication lines engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge in the application of engineering software, calculations, and analysis techniques in a multi-disciplinary environment, including AutoCad, CymCap, PLS-Cadd and manual calculations related to lines design.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team, providing technical leadership, support and guidance for the development of others.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Desire to undertake on-going or further professional development.
