Opportunity for a Senior Litigation Lawyer to manage the Melbourne-based team of this national practice
Your new company This national law firm has offices along the east coast of Australia and provides legal services mainly to businesses, investors, and individuals across different areas of commercial and corporate law matters.
Your new role This opportunity will see you taking a leading role in the management of commercial litigation and insolvency matters for the firm's Melbourne office. While managing a small team, you will run substantial matters independently while keeping Principals informed of strategic risk.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- conducting and managing complex disputes across various court jurisdictions;
- drafting and settling complex pleadings, applications and submissions;
- instructing and strategically brief Counsel;
- appearing in interlocutory and appropriate final hearings;
- supervising and mentoring junior team members;
- contribute to business development initiatives.
What you'll need to succeed You will have 4-8+ years' PAE with a strong commercial litigation background and demonstrated insolvency law experience. You must have proven ability to run matters autonomously, advocacy experience (at least at the interlocutory level) and strong drafting and strategic analysis capabilities. Being a leadership role, this role requires a lawyer who is performance-driven with a commercially pragmatic and strategic approach.
