The business is balancing platform stability with ongoing transformation initiatives, making experienced mainframe capability essential to its success.
Your new roleYou'll join an established engineering team as a Senior Mainframe Developer, supporting and enhancing core systems that manage high-volume processing and must perform reliably at all times. The role involves developing and maintaining complex batch and online applications, partnering closely with the business to deliver dependable solutions, and ensuring performance and stability across production environments.This is a contract position with a hybrid working from the Sydney CBD.
What you'll need to succeed

• Strong hands-on experience developing in COBOL and/or PL/I
• Solid knowledge of JCL, VSAM, and enterprise batch processing
• Proven experience working on z/OS mainframe platforms
• Background delivering systems within financial services or large enterprise environments
• A problem-solving mindset and the ability to work directly with business stakeholders
• Experience in high-availability, quality-driven technology environments
