The Role:

Kent is recruiting for a Director of Commercial to lead the commercial function for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, with procurement and supply chain reporting into the same remit. This is a senior regional leadership role with primary accountability for commercial strategy, contract administration, risk and claims management across APAC projects (EPC, EPCM, E&C and O&M), and for the functional leadership of procurement, sub-contracting and the preservation of company assets across the region.



Key Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial function for the APAC region as a senior member of the leadership team, working closely with the APAC SVP 


• Own commercial strategy and governance across APAC projects (EPC, EPCM, E&C and O&M) 


• Review tender and enquiry documents at bid stage, identifying commercial and contractual risk areas and advising executive management 


• Support project kick-off, ensuring commercial staffing and procedures are clearly understood and implemented on site 


• Advise project teams on the form and structure of interim and final certificates and claims by interpreting the relevant conditions of contract 


• Oversee contractual claims across the region, ensuring accurate records and high-quality, timely submissions to clients 


• Lead negotiations with clients and subcontractors on claims, variations and other commercial matters 


• Report on the commercial status of all current APAC work to the EVP and global leadership 


• Build and mentor commercial teams across APAC as the business grows 


• Provide functional oversight of procurement and subcontracting to ensure alignment with commercial control systems
  
   

About you:

     •     Professional Qualification, Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering 

     •     PMP/PMI Desirable

     •     MBA Desirable
