Senior Manager - Extension and Adoption - Start Immediately

As one of the world's leading grains research organisations, the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) plays an integral role in driving research outcomes and innovations that directly benefit the Australian grain industry. 

We are seeking a Senior Manager – Extension and Adoption in Canberra.  

Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager in the development and implementation of an overarching GRDC Extension and Adoption Strategy under the Stakeholder Engagement Framework.
• Implement cross-functional partnerships with other business groups within GRDC whereby Extension and Adoption becomes an integral component in both developing investment ideas and extension tactics/plans and actively advising on approaches that result in changes in grower behaviour and adoption on-farm. 
• Develop strategies and investments that document grower adoption of technologies/practices and measure impact of adoption. These include the latest thinking about behaviour change approaches and how to incorporate that thinking into Program Logic planning processes.
• Provide expert advice and direction to inform the organisational position on delivery of key initiatives including the National Grower Network (NGN), GRDC Updates and other events, publications, promotion of GRDC activities and investments and integration of those strategies with web and social platforms.

Candidate Profile:

• Tertiary qualifications in Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, Communications or Extension.
• Experience in agricultural extension, adult learning, participatory action research, advisory services of 15+ years and understanding of Australian Agriculture and the grains industry
• Proven experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of extension and communication strategies to achieve grower knowledge outcomes.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Must be prepared to travel as and when required.
• Must be willing to undergo all Pre-employment Medical checks.
• Must have a valid Australian Driver’s Licence as deemed necessary.
