Hays is partnering with a leading banking and financial services organisation to recruit an experienced corporate insurance professional for a senior contract opportunity within its Group Risk function.
This role suits a specialist with deep experience managing complex insurance programmes in regulated, multinational environments, and who is comfortable representing a large institution in the global insurance market.

Your new role
Joining a highly regarded Group Risk team, you will play a key role in the placement, renewal and ongoing governance of a sophisticated global insurance portfolio spanning multiple jurisdictions.
This position combines technical insurance expertise with strong commercial judgement and senior stakeholder engagement. You will work closely with internal leaders, global insurers, brokers and external advisers, with genuine scope to influence insurance structure, market strategy and claims outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting the placement, renewal and ongoing management of global and multinational insurance programmes
• Continuously reviewing and optimising insurance structures to ensure coverage remains fit for purpose, cost-effective and aligned to evolving business risks and market conditions
• Maintaining robust governance across all insurance arrangements, ensuring compliance with internal policies, risk management frameworks and relevant regulatory requirements
• Proactively managing relationships with global brokers, insurers and an in-house captive insurer to deliver measurable financial, operational and strategic benefits
• Leading the coordination and management of insurance claims, working closely with internal stakeholders, external legal advisers and insurers to maximise recoveries and minimise financial impact
• Representing the organisation in the global insurance market, clearly articulating its risk profile, control environment and strategic direction

What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced insurance professional with a background in complex corporate or financial services environments, bringing strong technical capability alongside commercial and stakeholder confidence.
You will ideally bring:

• Demonstrated experience in the corporate insurance sector, including exposure to multinational programme design and placement
• A tertiary qualification in risk, law, banking or finance, or equivalent experience gained within a large, complex organisation with mature risk management frameworks
• A proven ability to negotiate, influence and drive outcomes with senior internal stakeholders and external market participants
• Experience leading complex or high-value insurance claims activity
• A self-motivated, accountable working style with the ability to operate autonomously while contributing to a high-performing team
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical capability and sound business acumen
