About the role

The Senior Manager International, Advisory and Project Delivery is responsible for advancing Australia’s interests and role in the region by leading the delivery of funded projects related to trade facilitation, capacity building, and industry development. This position plays an important role in advancing Standards Australia’s mission to improve safety, quality, and efficiency across diverse sectors through effective project management, engaging stakeholders, and strategic planning.

What you'll do

  • Plan, execute, and monitor funded projects related to trade, capacity building, and industry development
  • Ensure a strong pipeline of opportunities is developed across areas of strategic interest
  • Engage with government agencies, industry bodies, and international partners to align project goals with national and global standards
  • Develop and implement capacity-building programs to enhance industry knowledge and skills
  • Monitor financial performance, track expenses, and report to senior leadership
  • Prepare regular progress reports, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations
  • Lead and inspire a team of project managers and specialists

About you
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, engineering, international relations)
  • Proven experience in managing funded projects, preferably in trade, capacity building, or standards development and a deep understanding of the frameworks used by donor agencies to support capacity and capability building work
  • Strong understanding of industry standards, regulations, and best practices
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to engage with diverse stakeholders
  • Strategic thinking and ability to align projects with organisational goals
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is desirable
  • Strong understanding of policy development and the mechanics of government
