The Position

The growth within Gunn Agri Partners (GAP) has led to a newly created position - Senior Manager - Risk & Compliance. 

The role is part of the Corporate team and is responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing the risk management and compliance framework of the GAP business unit and the four investment platforms and related operating companies. This role is critical in ensuring the group's adherence to regulatory and reporting requirements, industry standards, and internal policies. The role will be key in identifying risks that could impact the group's operations and reputation and coordinating the risk mitigation policy.

 

This is a full-time employment opportunity. The role is available to be based at our office in Bondi Junction or Albury location. 

 

The key responsibilities will include but not limited to: 

  • Ensure the group's compliance with the Australian Financial Services License (AFSL) requirements, investment management agreement reporting requirements and all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain a robust compliance program, including policies, procedures, training and monitoring mechanisms.
  • Identify and prioritise risks across all areas of the business, including operational, financial, regulatory, and reputational risks and where appropriate, implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Provide expert advice and prepare regular reports for senior management and the Board on risk and compliance matters, emerging trends and best practices.
  • Manage the corporate administration reporting framework and work directly with senior management to ensure effective overall functionality.
  • Lead the scheduling, coordination and monitoring of the Group’s compliance with reporting obligations for all entities and investment platforms. 
  • Maintain compliance with all required reporting obligations.

 

The Candidate

To be successful in the role you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Tertiary education and/or completion of some further study of a vocational nature.
  • A background in a similar position of 3+ years or more experience working in compliance and risk management.
  • Experience with working in a corporate environment and experience in financial services will be highly regarded.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business processes for corporate reporting.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
  • Exceptional communication and proven influencing skills.
  • Capability to use business management systems and software.
  • Superior time management and prioritization skills
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • High level proficiency in the Microsoft office suite.
  • A current driver’s licence and ability to undertake travel.

Gunn Agri Partners was established in 2013 and provides agricultural investment and farm management services for Australian, North American, and European investors. Gunn Agri manages $800m of assets and commitments managed by the following platforms:

 

  • Gunn Agri Cattle Fund incorporating Cunningham Cattle Co investing in northern cattle production.
  • Wollemi Farms, investing in permanent crop assets such as macadamias, avocados and stone fruit. 
  • Transforming Farming incorporating Faulkner Farming and investing in cropping and livestock farms and developing natural assets such as carbon sequestration and biodiversity.
  • Wilga Farming Australia investing in cropping and livestock farms and developing natural assets such as carbon sequestration and biodiversity.
