Senior Manager Strategic Communications and Engagement

Shape and lead communications for one of Australia's largest and most complex organisations.

From major crises and whole-of-government responses to enterprise-wide engagement programs, you'll influence how Transport communicates, responds and connects across NSW.

In this role you'll:

• lead Transport's central strategic and crisis communications function, providing leadership during high-profile incidents, emergencies and whole-of-government responses


• drive enterprise-wide communications planning and alignment, ensuring consistent messaging and engagement across Transport's diverse divisions and priorities


• oversee the planning and delivery of programs including Transport’s Connecting NSW Strategy, all-Transport livestreams, integrity and corruption prevention initiatives, and other enterprise-wide communications priorities


• lead and develop two high-performing teams, fostering capability, collaboration and excellence in communication delivery


• build trusted relationships with senior executives, government stakeholders and partner agencies to influence outcomes, manage risks and enhance organisational reputation.

About you

You are a highly credible communications leader with significant experience delivering strategic and crisis communications in complex, high-profile environments. You have successfully led teams, managed enterprise-wide communications programs and provided trusted advice to senior executives and government stakeholders while navigating issues with reputational, operational and public interest impacts.

You bring exceptional judgement, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with a proven ability to align communications across large organisations and deliver major strategic initiatives. Your experience includes leading crisis and emergency responses, driving enterprise-wide communications planning and building high-performing teams that achieve meaningful organisational outcomes. Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience are highly regarded.
