About Us:

Ministerial Services, Policy Reform and Programs (MSPRP) comprise several business units, including: Ministerial Services and Coordination, Policy Reform and Programs and Redress Design. These business units are responsible for providing critical departmental and Ministerial coordination support and delivering essential family violence programs and crime prevention grants. MSPRP is also responsible for delivery of priority justice policy reforms in line with departmental and Ministerial priorities. It also leads on crime prevention, family violence and the public intoxication reforms. MSPRP teams work in a dynamic environment, requiring agile policy teams to respond to key priorities as they arise.

About the Role:

As the Senior Manager, you will support the Director of Ministerial Services and Coordination with strategic insights and leadership of the delivery of the departmental strategic coordination and engagement functions. The Senior Manager will be responsible the delivery of a breadth of coordination activities across a number of areas including but not limited to stakeholder engagement, intergovernmental strategy and PAEC.

This role requires strategic leadership, sound judgement, responsiveness, excellent stakeholder management skills and project capability, discretion and the ability to perform under pressure. Additionally, the Senior Manager will work closely with the Director and be responsible for day-to-day management of and support to the teams, including fostering a dynamic and productive workforce culture. 

Some of your duties will include:

  • Leading a high functioning and agile team to deliver high-level and authoritative advice as it relates to the family violence policy and priority justice issues.  
  • Ensuring the successful delivery of significant departmental coordination programs and initiatives, which may include stakeholder engagement activities, intergovernmental forum advice and delivery of departmental PAEC briefings.  
  • Leading engagement and collaboration with DJCS business units, other departments, Victoria Police, community agencies and other stakeholders to facilitate development of consolidated strategic coordination advice.

About You:

As an ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Significant experience in the provision of high quality and trusted advice to support senior decision makers to advance outcomes for the Victorian Community.
  • Significant understanding of the justice system, including the issues and pressures to which the department and government has to respond.
  • A specialist understanding of relevant legislative and policy frameworks that apply to various justice portfolios.  

Qualifications:

  • A tertiary qualification in a related discipline would be highly desirable.
