Senior Manager, Technology Risk

As our Senior Manager, Technology Risk, you'll play a critical role in providing independent oversight of technology, cyber and operational resilience risk, ensuring our technology landscape remains strong, compliant and future ready. 

Working within our Governance & Risk division, you'll be a trusted advisor, thought partner and constructive challenger to senior Technology and Cyber leaders, providing expert guidance and independent assurance on how risks are identified, managed and mitigated across the organisation. 
 
You’ll also play a key role in supporting compliance with APRA prudential standards, including CPS 220, CPS 230 and CPS 234, and in helping the business respond confidently to regulatory engagement. 

What you'll do 

• Provide independent oversight and constructive challenge to ensure technology and cyber risks are effectively identified, managed and controlled.  

• Partner with senior leaders, offering trusted advice and insights that strengthen risk informed decision making.  

• Assess the effectiveness of technology controls, resilience capabilities and risk management practices, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.  

• Lead reviews of incidents, emerging risks and control weaknesses, helping drive meaningful remediation and maturity uplift.  

• Support HBF's compliance with APRA prudential standards, including CPS 220, CPS 230 and CPS 234, and contribute to regulatory engagements.  

• Deliver clear, evidence based reporting and recommendations to senior leadership, Executive Risk Committee and Board Risk Committee. 

 
About you 
You're a technology risk professional who enjoys building strong relationships while providing independent challenge when it matters. You're naturally curious, ask great questions, and can quickly cut through complexity to identify what the real risks are and what needs attention. 
 

You'll be comfortable working with senior stakeholders across Technology, Cyber and Risk, influencing decisions through your expertise, credibility and practical approach. Just as importantly, you're able to translate technical and regulatory concepts into clear, meaningful insights that drive action. You'll also bring: 

• Experience in technology and cyber risk management within a regulated financial services environment, ideally in a Line 2 risk role.  

• A strong understanding of APRA prudential standards, including CPS 220, CPS 230 and CPS 234.  

• Knowledge of technology, cyber security and resilience frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001 and ISO 22301.  

• Experience assessing technology controls, operational resilience, cloud and third-party/vendor risks.  

• Strong analytical skills and a knack for identifying trends, emerging risks and opportunities for improvement.  

• Relevant qualifications in Information Technology, Risk Management or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
