Senior Mechanical Engineer

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer in the proposals department, you will:

• Develop proposals and actively contribute to business development activities.
• Assist in the conceptual design of Balanced Machines, such as Bucket Wheel Reclaimers, Stackers, and Shiploaders.
• Estimate the structural weight of equipment based on finite element analysis or other analytical methods.
• Complete technical documentation of Balanced Machines.
• Actively participate in bid meetings and negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Continuously review and update cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements: The successful candidate must have:

• Tertiary Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and/or Creo.
• Capacity to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Previous exposure to balanced machines or other material handling equipment is advantageous.
• Previous experience with the Finite Element Method and proficiency in FEA software (Ansys, Strand7, SpaceGass, or Hyperworks) is advantageous.
• Knowledge of relevant industry codes such as AS4324.1, AS1418, AS4100, ISO5048, FEM Section II and others is advantageous.
• Australian residency.
