Senior Mechanical / Structural Designer

About the Position:

Azura Engineering is offering the opportunity for a Senior Mechanical / Structural Designer to join our small yet dynamic team.

This full time role will expose the successful candidate to a variety of 3D modelling, laser scanning and detailing tasks supporting engineering activities. Some of the daily activities will include:

• 3D Modelling with AutoDesk Inventor
• 3D Laser Scanning
• Point Cloud Registration and Manipulation
• Interface and Clash detection of 3D model embedded within laser scan point cloud data
• Development of 2D drawings (GAs, Assembly, Details, etc)
• Shop Detailing

Workplace flexibility and working from home options can be offered.

We have active projects that we need assistance with in the short term, so the opportunity to start immediately is available.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

The following Skills, Experience and Qualifications will be highly regarded:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a mechanical/structural designer
• Advanced skill level with AutoDESK Inventor or equivalent modelling program
• Ability to produce accurate 3D Parametric models and detailed manufacturing drawings
• Working knowledge of relevant design drafting standards
• Previous experience working with laser scanned point clouds will be highly regarded but is not essential
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail is absolutely essential
• Ability to plan ahead and work to deadlines
• Self-motivated, can work well independently while still being part of a team
