Job Description - Senior Network Engineer

Our Company

We are a global technology organisation focused on delivering secure, scalable, and high-performing network environments that support a distributed workforce. Our teams collaborate across regions to build reliable infrastructure, continuously improve services, and enable seamless connectivity for thousands of users worldwide.

Senior Network Engineer – Sydney, Australia

Interested in supporting a converged network that connects more than 8,000 users globally? Join us as a Senior Network Engineer based in Sydney, Australia.

As part of the Network, Identity, and Security team, you will support and maintain the corporate network, along with the services and devices that protect it. You will build solutions and solve technical problems—small and large—ranging from business-as-usual operations and fault finding to documentation, training, and incident management.

A typical work week may include transitioning to a new ISP provider in a remote office, troubleshooting routing/switching or Wi-Fi issues, resolving remote access challenges, supporting new office builds and deployments, and collaborating with the team to develop network standards and documentation. You will identify improvement opportunities, refine policies and procedures, and help build a robust network infrastructure that scales efficiently.

You will never be bored—this role offers constant variety and impact.

About You

You remain calm under pressure and are able to follow established processes in a fast-moving environment. You are self-motivated, manage your time effectively, and know when to seek guidance. You actively invest in your own development and contribute positively to team dynamics.

You are comfortable working with distributed teams, give and receive feedback constructively, and continuously look for ways to automate and improve your work.

What You’ll Bring

Essential experience:

  • 5+ years working with converged corporate and campus networks

  • Strong understanding of routing, switching, WLAN, WAN, security, and telephony

  • Knowledge of network protocols such as OSPF, BGP, STP, IPSEC, VSS, and 802.11 standards

  • Experience supporting remote access solutions (e.g. VPN technologies)

  • Experience supporting large campus network infrastructures

  • Expertise in network operations including automation, monitoring, and incident response

  • Solid understanding of network and internet security

Technical skills:

  • Experience with networking tools including routers, switches, WAPs, WLCs, firewalls, and identity services

  • Familiarity with Juniper infrastructure (e.g. SRX firewalls and Junos Space)

  • Strong documentation skills, including troubleshooting runbooks and as-built documentation

Working style:

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Comfortable working in a global, remote environment

  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA (or equivalent experience)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Windows Active Directory

  • Automation and tooling experience (Python, Ansible, Bash, Git)

  • Exposure to cloud and virtualisation technologies (AWS, VMware)

  • Knowledge of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments

  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks in network environments

  • Advanced certifications such as CCNP or JNCIP

Responsibilities

  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades (firmware, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations)

  • Collaborate with ISPs to provision new services and troubleshoot issues

  • Conduct office disaster recovery (DR) tests

  • Support day-to-day operations of the enterprise network

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of network performance, reliability, and security

About the Team

The Network, Identity, and Security team operates globally and is responsible for delivering, maintaining, and supporting a high-quality workplace technology experience. You will collaborate with multiple technology disciplines, including networking, telephony, and cloud-based services, to design and support innovative solutions.

Belonging at EOS
