Senior Open Space Project Officer - Exciting Challenge

An exciting Permanent full-time opportunity is available for an experienced and motivated Project Management professional to join our client's team to provide specialised project management for the delivery of Capital Works and Renewal Programs for their open space and community facilities. 

The types of projects could include new sporting amenity buildings, public toilets, community facility upgrades, floodlights, playground, netball/multipurpose courts, skateparks etc. 

This role demands strong communication skills as you will be providing support and specialist advise to key stakeholders in the planning and development stages. This position is also responsible for providing excellent leadership and mentoring to the team, assisting with their professional development and fostering a team focused and collaborative environment. 

Responsibilities: 

• As required, carry out activities to assist the Department in achieving its objectives as set out in the Community Strategic Plan and associated Delivery Program and Operational Plan
• Contribute to the development of open space and community facility Capital Works and Renewal Programs in consultation with relevant stakeholders
• Provide project management services for the design and construction of open space and community facilities including management of the ten knowledge areas of the Project Management Body of Knowledge: project integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communication, risk, procurement and stakeholders.
• Prepare, update and maintain project documents in the Open Space and Community Facilities Unit.
• Undertake the planning of open space and community facilities construction activities including ensuring adherence to Council’s contractor management system procedure - completion of project safety management plans, project risk assessments, emergency management plans etc.
• Overseeing completion of approval documents (Development Applications, Infrastructure SEPP etc), minor REF’s, project briefs, request for quotations, tenders, project development plans and project completion reports for projects included in capital works and renewal programs and finalisation reports.
• Reviewing and preparing estimates and variation requests 

To be successful in this role:

• Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Landscape/Building Design or other related field
• Experience in minor or major open space and community facility works inclusive of scoping, programming, budgeting, contract administration and delivery along with experience managing project documentation for construction projects.
• Class C driver's licence
• Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff and with the community 
• Ability to prioritise tasks and time manage effectively  

Perks:

• Monday to Friday - 35 hour week
• Salary range between $99,824 - $11.797 plus 12% super
• A leaseback vehicle is also provided with this position.
