The Opportunity

As our Senior Payroll Officer, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and compliant operation of our payroll function across the business.  Reporting to the HR Solutions Lead and working closely with Finance, this role is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing for both salaried and waged employees—ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance at all times.

You will manage and maintain payroll systems (ADP) and time & attendance platforms (Kronos), while also taking ownership of statutory reporting, superannuation, taxation, and other third-party obligations.

Your attention to detail and understanding of relevant Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and legislation will ensure all payments and deductions are administered correctly and on time.

The role requires someone who can confidently provide guidance to managers and staff on payroll matters, support strategic initiatives, and drive continuous improvement in payroll processes. You will also provide mentoring and training to the broader HR team and assist in HR/payroll policy development and system upgrades.

• Competence and experience in the use of payroll packages, preferably, ADP, Kronos, MS Office suite.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a payroll function.
• Experience in understanding and managing multiple enterprise agreements within the payroll system.
• Capacity to consistently demonstrate a high level of initiative, attention to details as well as the ability to analyse and report on results.
• You will be a collaborative team player who is customer oriented and loves a challenging but rewarding environment
• Ability to streamline processes and influence change that makes life easier.
