About the team
The Planning & Building Services Department provides statutory services for the built environment and planning regulations within Glen Eira. There are three teams within the Department, being:
Our Planning Enforcement Officers sit within the Urban Planning team in the Planning & Building Services Department.
About the roles
Depending on your qualifications and level of experience, you may be able to join us as a Senior Planning Enforcement Officer or a Principal Planning Enforcement Officer.
As part of our Planning Enforcement Team, you will provide specialist services to facilitate compliance with the requirements of the Planning and Environment Act 1987 , the Glen Eira Planning Scheme, Planning Permits and other related legislation and regulations as they relate to the development and use of land for the benefit of the municipality.
You will also provide coaching, mentoring and support for the Planning Enforcement staff on planning investigation techniques.
You will play an important role to engender public confidence in our regulatory services by auditing adherence to permit conditions, educating the public on expectations and taking appropriate action to rectify identified breaches. Your enthusiasm and confidence will have a positive influence on those around you, and your professionalism will enhance Council’s reputation as a responsive and efficient organization.

About you
As part of our Planning Enforcement team, you will provide responsive, high-quality service to the community and Council by ensuring compliance with statutory obligations. You will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills to ensure clear dissemination of Council information and conflict resolution.

Interview information
In order to best manage the selection process, all shortlisted candidates will be contacted before 12 pm on Wednesday, 03 July 2024, to arrange an interview. The interviews will take place in person or by video conference.
The interviews will take place between Thursday, 04 July 2024 and Friday, 05 July 2024, between 9am and 5pm .
