About the team & role:
The Employee Experience Design Team focuses on delivering innovative solutions to small businesses and their employees to manage their expenses, submit timesheets, leave requests and more through the Xero Me app.
We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer in this newly created position to help connect the dots and create beautiful experiences across web and mobile for the Xero Me platform.
What you'll do
- Design Practice and Thinking: collaborate with design leadership to shape the Product Design vision and elevate the usability of Xero Me’s mobile app to improve employee adoption and satisfaction. You'll champion the value of design, dive into research and analysis, help define the problems we're solving, and create design frameworks (think wireframes, visual layouts, etc.). You'll explore innovative interaction solutions, develop phased design approaches, build prototypes, and work closely with other designers. Designing for accessibility and creating detailed interactions and interfaces will also be key.
- Mobile Design: Develop phased design solutions that bridge the gap between a future state and current patterns, mobile design system, iOS, iPadOS, Android and other relevant constraints and considerations
- Design Research and Testing: we're looking for someone to help identify research opportunities and participate in planning and conducting research and testing. You'll be involved in user research to understand customer needs, synthesize data, and contribute to user testing.
- Relationship Management: you'll influence, challenge, and support other designers to deliver fantastic product experiences. You'll contribute to strategic product initiatives, facilitate team workshops, and collaborate across teams to balance user needs, business goals, and technical possibilities. You will foster strong working relationships with your engineering and product peers to execute the strategic vision of the Xero Me app.
What you'll bring with you
- Experience designing for native ios and/or android apps
- A portfolio that demonstrates mobile app (native ios/android) case studies with strong examples of cross-functional collaboration with engineering and product
- Experience building and iterating on a product or experiences based on usage patterns, user feedback and an evolving strategic landscape
- Experience across the entire design process, with mastery in executing elegant interfaces
