Job Description - Senior Project Manager

Your role at St John of God Health Care

As Senior Project Manager at St John of God Murdoch, you will lead the delivery of complex capital projects, including a new car park, while driving project delivery capability, continuous improvement, and team development within the Program Delivery team. Working across facilities, engineering, infrastructure, commissioning, and commercial delivery, you will play a key role in shaping how Orthonova, a new partnership between St John of God Health Care and leading Perth orthopaedic surgeons, operates from day one. Opening in early 2027, Orthonova aims to set a new benchmark in orthopaedic care.

This is a high-impact opportunity to deliver meaningful projects that directly influence healthcare infrastructure and service delivery. You’ll be part of a growing team delivering projects that genuinely make a difference. The work is challenging, varied and high-impact and you’ll have the opportunity to shape both the infrastructure and the way we deliver it.

This position will be offered on a 12 month fixed term, full-time basis, working 38 hours per week.

The Position

  • Leading end-to-end delivery of capital projects, with a strong focus on facilities and engineering outcomes

  • Supporting the commissioning of a major hospital, ensuring systems, infrastructure and environments are ready for operation

  • Working across technical, operational and executive stakeholders to align priorities and drive delivery

  • Contributing to complex commercial arrangements, including vendor engagement, contracting and delivery models

  • Bringing structure and momentum to projects in a fast-moving, evolving environmen

  • Accountable for the successful execution of complex, high value and/or high risk projects within project constraints and in compliance with the Project Management methodology.

  • Responsible for financial management and reporting, including the tracking of estimates, actuals and forecasts.

  • Managing teams of resources from different functions, directorates, hospitals and services to enable success project outcomes.

  • Effectively resource, schedule, prioritise and coordinate project activities.

  • Effectively manage project scope by ensuring that changes are documented, approved and registered.

  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of Project Management artefacts as directed by the project methodology.

  • Responsible for risk and issue management including identifying, registering, and driving treatment activities that will mitigate project risks and resolve issues.

  • Ensure that the documented quality standards of the project are met.

  • Responsible for the preparation of project reports and other management products as directed by the project methodology.

  • Manage senior stakeholders to ensure project expectations are understood, agreed and met.

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to influence project outcomes.

  • Coordinate and report to Project Governance bodies as directed.

  • Manage contractual agreements with solution providers and vendors.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with tertiary qualifications in Information Systems, Project Management, or equivalent industry experience with at least five years' experience delivering application and transformation projects across complex environments. You will have proven capability managing the full project lifecycle, vendor relationships, and key project documentation, with experience across financial, corporate, clinical, or facilities projects.

The role requires a collaborative leader with strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, capable of leading diverse teams and delivering outcomes in fast-paced environments. Strong commercial acumen, organisational capability, and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential. Experience in the health or hospital sector is desirable, however your ability to navigate complexity, build relationships, and drive successful project outcomes will be key.

  • Salary: $154,196 to $171,339 per annum, plus 12% superannuation

  • A full time, 12-month fixed term position, working 76 hours per fortnight
