At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners – from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training.


 



  • Temporary Full-Time employment until 29 December 2028

  • Located in Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available

  • Clerk Grade 9/10 – Salary ranges from $129,464 to $142,665 p.a. plus superannuation and annual leave loading


 


 


About the role


 


The Senior Project Officer plays an integral role in supporting projects and programs focused on equity initiatives to improve education, training and access to employment opportunities

About you


 


You are a seasoned project officer with experience in project coordination and program delivery. You are motivated and proactive in your approach to deliver outstanding outcome. To be successful in this role, you will:


 



  • Demonstrate the ability to manage competing and changing priorities and stakeholders’ expectations



  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn evidence into clear, practical advice.

  • Proven stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills across government and industry.

  • Ability to lead projects and support teams to deliver on time and within budget.



  • Have experience in project management within a large and complex organisation



  • Clear and effective communicator, with strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to prepare high-quality written materials Including strong report writing and risk identification skills.



  • Have exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy across reports, documentation, contracts and program processes

Essential requirements of the role



  • Current and valid Working with Children Check Clearance for paid employment.

  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
