The Commercial division is Allianz Australia's largest distribution channel whose customers include Commercial, Corporate and international buyer groups throughout Australia and New Zealand. We currently have an opening for a Senior Property Underwriter to join the Sydney team to work on ISR property business, focusing on both new business and renewals.

About the role

• Underwriting complex new business and renewals in line with the AAL Underwriting Framework, ASU, and delegated authority limits.
• Providing technical leadership, coaching, and support to regional underwriters and contributing to a high-performing, collaborative team.
• Managing workflows for complex accounts to ensure high-quality service delivery and alignment with growth and profitability goals.
• Identifying and converting profitable new business opportunities while maintaining strong retention rates through effective broker engagement.
• Building strategic relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and providing accurate risk assessments and escalation recommendations.

About you

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and industry accreditations, with extensive experience in a commercial underwriting role within a complex, matrixed general insurance organization. Experience in underwriting ISR risks nis required.
• Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships, exchange industry knowledge, and achieve beneficial outcomes.
• Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing demands and prioritize tasks effectively.
• In-depth understanding of relevant regulatory and legislative compliance requirements impacting the organization.
• Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality services, ensuring customer satisfaction, and making informed, data-driven decisions
• A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
