Salary -

• Senior Psychologist - $124,771 to $135,527 pa                   


• Senior Specialist Psychologist - $146,281 - $154,889 pa 


• Plus environmental allowance, employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading


• Salary will be paid on a pro rata basis for part time employment

Your role

As a Senior Psychologist, you will provide direct psychological services and programs to offenders within a custodial setting. Your role involves offering high-level expertise in psychological assessment, intervention, and case management, particularly in complex cases. Mannus is a minimum-security centre with a focus on works release and reintegration. There are opportunities for meaningful, in‑depth interactions with inmates, enabling you to play an active role in rehabilitation and behaviour change. There is a strong focus on rehabilitation and psychological consultation, allowing you to influence case planning, risk management, and treatment pathways.

What you’ll do

• Provide assessment, case formulation, and individual intervention services to offenders and deliver group interventions as required.


• Maintain accurate and compliant documentation, including detailed progress notes and entries in the Offender Integrated Management System (OIMS).


• Coordinate and negotiate psychological service delivery with stakeholders, while upholding clear professional and role boundaries.


• Work together with other service integration staff in a multi-disciplinary team environment.


• Provide supervision to psychologists, ensuring consistent, high‑quality practice and supporting their professional development.


• Contribute to training and professional development initiatives for Psychologists.

As a Senior Psychologist, you'll mentor and supervise psychologists, build workforce capability and promote evidence-based practice.

As a Senior Specialist Psychologist, you'll provide advanced clinical consultation, contribute to clinical governance and lead service improvement initiatives.

What we’re looking for

You're an experienced psychologist who is passionate about supporting rehabilitation, behaviour change and positive outcomes for people in custody. You bring strong expertise in psychological assessment, intervention and criminogenic risk management, with the ability to navigate complex presentations with confidence and sound clinical judgement.

As a natural leader, you enjoy mentoring and supporting other psychologists, providing clinical guidance and contributing to effective case management and rehabilitation strategies. You communicate with professionalism and integrity, work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, and thrive in an environment where your expertise can make a meaningful impact on rehabilitation and community safety.

Eligibility for consideration of a higher commencing salary is subject to comparative assessment and demonstration of the  additional characteristics as defined in the Crown Employees Psychologist Award.
