Job Description
This newly created senior reporter role within the editorial team at Nine.com.au focuses on breaking engaging, agenda-setting stories that captivate and inform our digital audience. Bringing a diverse and extensive network of professional contacts, you will drive original, high-impact coverage across major rounds including politics, court, crime, and finance.
Day to day you will:
Break original, exclusive, and agenda-setting news stories.
Craft well-reasoned narratives that inform and entertain readers.
Conduct thorough research to uncover compelling new leads.
Write engaging, original opinion pieces and analytical features.
Maintain and expand a diverse network of professional contacts.
What you'll bring:
Prior newsroom experience delivering high-quality digital journalism.
An impressive contact book covering a wide range of topics.
Strong writing skills with a knack for compelling storytelling.
Sharp investigative research abilities and a proven nose for news.
Sound understanding of Australian media law and legal boundaries.
Capability to produce sharp, insightful commentary and analysis.
Availability to work flexible hours to coincide with the news agenda.
