Job Description

This newly created senior reporter role within the editorial team at Nine.com.au focuses on breaking engaging, agenda-setting stories that captivate and inform our digital audience. Bringing a diverse and extensive network of professional contacts, you will drive original, high-impact coverage across major rounds including politics, court, crime, and finance.

Day to day you will:

• Break original, exclusive, and agenda-setting news stories.

• Craft well-reasoned narratives that inform and entertain readers.

• Conduct thorough research to uncover compelling new leads.

• Write engaging, original opinion pieces and analytical features.

• Maintain and expand a diverse network of professional contacts.

What you'll bring:

• Prior newsroom experience delivering high-quality digital journalism.

• An impressive contact book covering a wide range of topics.

• Strong writing skills with a knack for compelling storytelling.

• Sharp investigative research abilities and a proven nose for news.

• Sound understanding of Australian media law and legal boundaries.

• Capability to produce sharp, insightful commentary and analysis.

• Availability to work flexible hours to coincide with the news agenda.
