Job Description - Senior Research Coordinator Health Research

About This Opportunity 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Senior Research Coordinator to join the RECOVER Injury Research Centre. Working across key projects, you will contribute to innovative research focused on improving recovery after road traffic injury through psychologically informed care, digital health, and co-designed models of care.

This position will support two funded research programs:

  • RISE – a feasibility RCT evaluating a clinician-supported SMS intervention for people recovering from whiplash injury.

  • Stressmodex Ortho project – a co-design project developing future models of psychological care in orthopaedic settings with people with lived experience, clinicians and key stakeholders.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to projects spanning clinical trials, qualitative research, implementation science and new models of digital health.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Co-ordination and administration of key research projects, overseeing timely progression.

  • Supporting day to day operation of a feasibility RCT, including recruitment, participant screening, intervention coordination, follow-up, and data quality monitoring.

  • Maintaining study documentation and regulatory requirements, including ethics and governance reporting.

  • Liaising with hospital sites, clinicians and consumers, and project stakeholders.

  • Organising and planning co-design research activities including workshops and data collection.

  • Assisting with data analysis, and contributing to research outputs, joint preparation and authorship of reports, manuscripts, and presentations.

  • Supporting project meetings and communications across the multidisciplinary research team.

  • Assisting with developing a proactive safety culture and implementing continuous improvement.

About You

Our ideal candidate will possess:

  • A university degree in psychology, public health, health sciences, or related discipline, with subsequent relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated and well-advanced experience in coordinating health or clinical research including patient-facing research activities.

  • Experience coordinating research projects, including co-design or patient and clinician workshops.

  • Experience managing research data using systems (e.g., REDcap).

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work with colleagues at all levels.

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines, solve problems independently, work under own guidance and as part of a team.

  • Ability to forward plan, prioritise tasks to meet deadlines and work with a high level of adaptability, both independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience in digital health or health technologies, work in healthcare settings, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification or coordinating clinical trials will be highly regarded.

Appointment to this role is subject to the successful completion of relevant pre-employment checks including verification of the right to work in Australia and mandatory immunisations. This may also include checks relating to gender-based violence matters or other integrity and conduct requirements.
