Job Description - Senior Sales Manager, Global Sales - Group (Sydney)

The Global Sales Office of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, based in Sydney, has a vacancy for a dynamic and experienced Senior Sales Manager, Global Sales - Group, to maximize sales revenue and grow new mice and group business for the company from professional conference organisers (PCOs) and all third-party MICE companies based in Australia and New Zealand. The ideal candidate will cultivate strong relationships to ensure business revenue goals are achieved or exceeded and drive brand loyalty to maximise conference and meetings business to our hotels and resorts from this region. 

Reporting to Director of Global Sales.    

ABOUT THE COMPANY: 

Shangri – La Hotels and Resorts operates and manages 100 hotels + under the family of four brands: Shangri – la hotels and Resorts, Kerry hotels, Jen and Traders.  The hotels are in premier city addresses across Asia Pacific, North America, the Middle East and Europe. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To meet the company’s goal, achieving GSO SYD team annual revenue targets, and individual revenue targets as allocated. 
  • Responsible for building and maintaining close relationships with active mice accounts to secure repeat business. 
  • Responsible for developing new meeting and events business that has potential to grow.
  • Actively promote newly opened hotels / need hotels that require immediate support. 
  • On-going effort to introduce SLIM Marketing programs such as Golden Circle Loyalty program, Mobile app, MICE offer etc. 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • At least 5 years’ experience working in a hotel, national or global sales role. Preference will be given to sales candidates who have experience in a National or Global hotel sales role.
  • Knowledge of all Shangri-La’s hotels and resorts 
  • Demonstrate hands-on leadership skills that exemplify a high sense of commitment, integrity, teamwork and honesty that will develop sales and support staff.
  • Personal computer knowledge mandatory (Salesforce, Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel)
  • Strategic thinker who is capable of interacting with all levels of management with internal and external customers in a friendly and positive manner.   
  • Solid verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Strong relationship skills.   
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.   
  • Ability to Travel.
