This 4 Partner southern side Adelaide chartered accounting firm has built a strong reputation for quality advice and long-term client relationships. With a dedicated Self-Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF) division and a supportive, down-to-earth culture, the firm offers a stable environment where experienced professionals are valued.Due to the recent retirement of a long-standing team member after more than 15 years with the firm, there is an immediate need for a Senior SMSF Accountant to join the team.
Your new role
Working within the SMSF division, you will take ownership of a portfolio of self-managed super funds and play a key role in maintaining the firm's high compliance standards. You will work closely with a Partner and collaborate with a knowledgeable and approachable team.Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of SMSF financial statements, tax returns and member statements
• Managing end-to-end SMSF compliance, including lodgements and regulatory requirements
• Liaising with auditors, advisers and clients
• Providing guidance and support to junior team members where required
• Using BGL software as part of day-to-day SMSF administration

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Proven experience in SMSF accounting and compliance within an Australian public practice environment
• Strong technical knowledge of superannuation legislation and ATO requirements
• Experience using BGL
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A strong attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines independently
