Senior Software Developer - Temporary opportunity until June 2028

In this role, you'll:

Play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering high quality software solutions using modern JavaScript-based frameworks. Working across the full software development lifecycle, you will translate business requirements into scalable and effective technical solutions, produce solution designs, and contribute to the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget.

You will provide technical leadership through code reviews, knowledge sharing and mentoring, helping to uplift engineering capability and promote best practices. The role also involves supporting deployment activities, maintaining technical documentation, participating in discovery and analysis activities, and collaborating closely with stakeholders to deliver innovative and customer-focused digital solutions.

We currently have two open vacancies at this level. Thes roles will be working on the ONG (Opal Next Gen) project.

About you

For you to be successful within this role you should meet with all, or most of the following criteria:

• A minimum of five years' experience in software development, with demonstrated expertise in solution design, application development, code review and the delivery of high-quality software solutions


• Strong experience developing applications using modern JavaScript frameworks


• Proven experience delivering enterprise scale customer facing websites and/or mobile applications


• Experience developing and deploying applications within AWS cloud environments, with exposure to serverless architectures highly regarded

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, i.e., React and React Native


• Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering or a related discipline

These roles are fixed-term flexible hybrid roles (until 30 June 2028). 50% of your time will be office based, with five days of your month based from our offices at Parramatta, and five days from another TfNSW office (ideally you will spend Tuesdays and Wednesdays from the Parramatta office though). These are Grade 9 roles – paying between $163,145.00 - $182,721.00 + super.
