Senior Technical Officer - Building

• Oversee a high level of civil and structural services at multiple University sites that are critical for business continuity
• Full-time position on an ongoing basis
• Level 8, base salary range: effective from 1 July 2024 $112,114 – $122,544 p.a. plus 17% superannuation

About the team

Campus Management is responsible for planning, developing and managing the University’s campus and property portfolio to support teaching, research and campus life. Campus Management delivers a comprehensive range of University-wide services.

About the opportunity

As the appointee you will, under broad direction, provide a high level of civil and structural services for the University and liaise with University stakeholders, external consultants and contractors to oversee the civil and structural elements of campus buildings and new construction projects. You will also be required to manage the structural integrity program and overview the safety and adequacy of building structures and provide advice on building compliance.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:

• Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency
• Extensive knowledge of building practice and construction, building codes regulations and statutory requirements
• Ability to monitor and report on construction projects in accordance with the contract, including attending design and site meetings, conducting site inspections and identifying and resolving defects issues
• Ability to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders, including internal clients and external consultants, for major capital projects, refurbishments and minor works and maintenance works.
• Registered builder in Western Australia is preferred
