Are you a high-performing tech recruiter looking for an opportunity to make an impact in a rapidly growing, award-winning, and well-funded SaaS business that is disrupting a multi-billion-dollar industry?
The Role
We are looking for a Senior Technical Recruiter who will truly lead the technical recruiting function internally. You are a trailblazer who leverages your already-established network to bring in top talent to Karbon. You are also highly connected in the recruitment industry, a self-starter who is willing to actively sell candidates on “why” Karbon and not rely on our already strong inbound candidate pipeline alone. Reporting to the VP of People & Places, you’ll be instrumental in further building our amazing tech talent in Australia and abroad. This is an office-based role at our new office on Pitt Street.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of technical talent acquisition processes and strategies to support a robust pipeline of top tech talent, with the majority of hires in engineering and product primarily in Australia and the Philippines, with some hires also in USA.
- Partner with leaders (your clients) within Karbon to provide guidance, coaching, and support in all recruitment matters, developing interviewing skills and scaffolding them as needed
- Lead the full cycle recruitment efforts for the highest priority requisitions - screening, interviewing, reference checks, and providing recommendations for business leaders
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for technical talent with a focus on operational excellence for every step of the recruitment process (new positions intake, JDs, pre-screening, interview scorecards, offer communication, etc.)
- Maintain an excellent candidate experience, ensuring you are communicating to all candidates (regardless of status) every step of the way
- Fully utilize Greenhouse to the greatest degree, being able to easily report on key metrics like ‘time to hire’ etc.
- Ensure the timely processing of all external recruitment programs (reference and background checks etc.) and provide results to hiring managers while offering an understanding of the results
- Drive improvements to increase the quality of hires (measured by objective metrics) through data-driven experimentation
- Leverage and analyze data and recruitment Reports to effectively partner with the people team and broader business
You are ideal for this role if you
- Thrive in ambiguity: You are joining an early stage (series B) where priorities can (and will) shift, and you’ll need to adapt quickly.
- Plan ahead: You work with the team and business to forecast needs and develop a hiring plan that will accelerate the company
- Are honest, trustworthy, and ultimately a good person: You build meaningful and credible relationships with your teammates and key stakeholders, leading by example and not ego.
- Like working with numbers: You aren’t afraid to dive into spreadsheets and develop meaningful dashboards, always tinkering with ways to improve.
- Exemplify excellence: You hold yourself to high standards, seeking both personal growth and also growing your team via coaching and thoughtful career conversations.
Experience and Qualifications
- 3+ years experience within technical recruiting
- Global and technical recruitment experience a must
- Previous experience using Greenhouse or similar to its fullest capacity
- Willing to be agile across high-level tasks and full-cycle recruitment activities
- Excellent ability to negotiate employment terms
- Able to operate autonomously and deliver exceptional client service
- A true networker who attends industry events and able to promote our company brand
- Solid understanding of the recruitment process and candidate journey
- Passionate about building a diverse and inclusive culture.
- Experience using full G-suite software.
- Acute attention to detail and a high bar for quality.
Why work at Karbon?
- Gain global experience across USA, New Zealand, UK, and Canada
- 4 weeks annual leave plus 5 extra "Karbon Days" off a year
- Flexible working environment
- Work with (and learn from) an experienced, high-performing team
