Are you a Senior Underwriter with significant D&O experience within Financial Lines?
We have an opportunity for a Senior Underwriter to join our Melbourne team. Our ideal candidate is technically sound, a collaborative team player with extensive Financial Lines experience, specifically in D&O. You will look after renewals, new business, and broker engagement to ensure growth and profitability of the PI book.

Key responsibilities:
- In this role, you'll manage a portfolio of D&O and professional & financial risks, using your underwriting expertise to balance growth, profitability and service excellence. You'll work closely with brokers, clients and internal stakeholders to deliver strong outcomes for the business and the market.
- Underwrite new and renewal business across the D&O and broader professional & financial risks portfolio
- Assess, rate and price complex risks in line with Liberty's underwriting appetite and profitability guidelines
- Build and maintain strong broker and client relationships to support retention, growth and market profile
- Negotiate policy terms, conditions, wordings and endorsements
- Execute effective selling and negotiation strategies to support profitable portfolio growth
- Manage portfolio performance, including premium collection, retention and business development
- Work closely with claims, risk management, operations and compliance teams to deliver a seamless service
- Contribute to market-facing activity including broker presentations, industry events and training sessions
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring and support to less experienced underwriters and assistants
- Support product development, strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives
About you
- Strong commitment to Liberty's business operating model, including 'Managing the Cycle'
- Significant experience in the General Insurance industry
- Experience Underwriting Professional and Financial risks within D&O.
- Relevant experience in an aligned role with a broker or insurance company
- Strong PC skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database systems
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline desirable
- Technical underwriting expertise
