As a Senior Ventilation Engineer, you'll deliver innovative technical solutions that drive exceptional outcomes for clients while working within a collaborative and supportive environment. Key Duties: 

• Lead and promote a strong safety culture, driving a commitment to Zero Harm across all activities and operations.


• Provide specialist underground ventilation engineering expertise, delivering practical and value-driven technical solutions.


• Develop, review, and continuously improve Ventilation Management Plans, systems, and standards.


• Conduct ventilation risk assessments, audits, and investigations to identify hazards, mitigate risks, and support compliance.


• Optimise mine ventilation performance through effective airflow management, ventilation design, fan infrastructure, and escapeway planning.


• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, site personnel, suppliers, and key stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.


• Mentor and develop engineers and technical professionals, fostering capability growth and knowledge sharing.


• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, performance, and safety outcomes.


• Collaborate with operational teams to embed ventilation best practices and ensure adherence to regulatory and company requirements.


• Support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and risk management activities to drive sustainable operational improvements.


• Ensure engineering activities are delivered in accordance with company values, governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.


• Contribute to the successful delivery of projects and operational objectives across a diverse portfolio of mining sites.

Key Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (or equivalent)

• 7+ years in-depth Ventilation engineering experience in underground mining


• Strong site-based experience with exposure to studies and design.


• Effective Technical report writing skills, verbal and written communication


• Proficient in ventilation software (e.g. Ventsim, VUMA) as well as high level of computer literacy, in Deswik mine software.
