The Senior Vice President – Technical and Operational Excellence will lead OceanaGold’s global technical functions, driving excellence across open pit and underground mining engineering, metallurgy and geology practices including organic growth studies and innovation opportunities to support operational excellence initiatives.  This strategic role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and will build a culture of technical and operational excellence, optimize long-term value creation, enhance operational performance, and deliver transformative technical solutions across the business.



Key Responsibilities

• Set the global technical and operational excellence strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
• Undertake assurance of the life-of-mine planning inputs and actively drive efforts to support resource-to-reserve conversion tactics.
• Drive operational performance improvement programs, targeting productivity, cost efficiency.
• Lead major studies and implement best practices through all study gates from concept, pre-feasibility, and feasibility study stages.
• Assist with building capability within operational teams, fostering innovation, collaboration, and leadership excellence.
• Collaborate with Business Development and Investor Relations on M&A initiatives. Provide technical insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Ensure robust governance, risk management, and technical assurance processes are in place across all assets.
• Role model all aspects of safety leadership

• Tertiary qualification in mining engineering, metallurgy or a related technical discipline.
• Proven track record in senior technical and operational leadership within mining or processing operations, preferably in hard rock environments.
• Extensive experience in technical studies, project management, and operational excellence.
• Prior experience in M&A technical due diligence and/or integration processes.
