This role supports the Case Management teams, specifically Technical Managers, by providing up-to-date technical guidance, identifying entitlement review opportunities, and developing strategies for managing workers' compensation claims. The position operates in a service environment with a focus on proactive claims management. This full-time, permanent position is based in Melbourne with the flexibility to work from home.
Responsibilities - Work with the Legal Manager to develop and implement effective strategies for achieving key performance and remuneration measures.
- Drive entitlement review activity in consultation with Technical Managers, with an additional focus on forensic review activities.
- Provide technical support to claims teams regarding the claims management process in line with Victorian workers' compensation law and WorkSafe Victoria guidelines.
- Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with organisational compliance with legal, governance, and WorkSafe Victoria agent requirements.
- Review and provide feedback on current claims management practices and procedures, ensuring emerging trends are identified and managed.
- Collaborate with the Legal Manager to develop and implement effective strategies for achieving key performance and remuneration measures.
About You - Strong technical experience within the Victorian workers' compensation scheme, including a solid understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
- Previous experience as a technical specialist or similar role in the workers' compensation sector.
- Proven history of drafting/writing Adverse decision notices.
- Ideal history as a Dispute Resolution Officer (DRO) or Technical Manager.
- Experience managing relationships and competing stakeholder priorities.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving, negotiation, and strategic thinking abilities.
- Proven experience coaching and mentoring case managers in the workers' compensation industry.
