Senior / Principal Electrical Engineer (EIC)

Due to continued project awards, we are currently seeking a Senior or Principal Electrical Engineer (EIC) to join a well-established engineering consultancy based in Perth CBD.

Working across a diverse portfolio of greenfield and brownfield projects, you'll provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on in the delivery of electrical, instrumentation and control engineering solutions from study phase through to detailed design, construction and commissioning.

This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging projects across the mining, minerals processing, energy and chemicals sectors within a collaborative and experienced engineering team.

Responsibilities:

  Lead the delivery of electrical, instrumentation and control (EIC) design packages across multiple projects.

  
  


• 
  

  Prepare and review electrical calculations, specifications, datasheets and technical documentation.

  
  


• 
  

  Develop electrical designs covering HV/LV power distribution, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, protection systems, earthing and lighting.

  
  


• 
  

  Provide input into instrumentation and control system design, including control philosophies, instrument selection, I/O schedules and functional design documentation.

  
  


• 
  

  Review vendor documentation, technical submissions and equipment selections.

  
  


• 
  

  Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery.

  
  


• 
  

  Support projects through study, FEED, detailed design, procurement, construction and commissioning.

  
  


• 
  

  Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs and technical risk assessments.

  
  


• 
  

  Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers where required.

  
  


• 
  

  Liaise directly with clients, vendors and site personnel throughout project delivery.

  
  

Experience Required:

• 
  

  Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering.

  
  


• 
  

  8+ years' experience delivering EIC engineering solutions within the mining, minerals processing, energy or heavy industrial sectors.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience across both greenfield and brownfield projects.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong understanding of HV/LV power systems and industrial electrical design.

  
  


• 
  

  Practical knowledge of instrumentation and control systems within processing plant environments.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience working through the full project lifecycle from studies through to commissioning.

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams and build strong client relationships.

  
  


• 
  

  CPEng or working towards chartership will be viewed favourably.
