Sensory Serenity Volunteer – Create Moments of Calm

Step into a gentle, dream‑like space where you can help residents with dementia unwind, relax, and feel deeply cared for. This role is perfect for someone with a soothing presence, a creative spirit, or a therapist’s touch.

You’ll transform a room into a sensory sanctuary — soft lighting, an aroma diffuser releasing calming scents, peaceful music floating through the air, and your warm hands offering slow, comforting hand massages.

Your presence helps residents feel grounded, safe, and serene, turning an ordinary moment into something beautifully restorative. This is a role for someone who loves creating an atmosphere, nurturing calm, and bringing a little magic into someone’s day. 

Your impact

While the main tasks are maintenance related, you will have the opportunity to connect with our residents, providing meaning and purpose to your role.

HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.

Requirements

We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday for a few hours, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.

Ideally you’ll be available during the afternoon between 4\-6pm Monday to Friday, we would be happy to discuss a suitable day of the week for your visit.

18 years or older • NDIS Worker Screening Check  and National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
