ServiceNow ITOM Senior Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, and implement ServiceNow ITOM
  solutions, including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management,
  CMDB, Cloud Discovery, and AIOps.
  
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, and
  stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into
  technical solutions.
  
• Configure and customize ServiceNow ITOM applications based on
  functional and technical specifications.
  
• Develop and maintain Discovery schedules, patterns, probes,
  sensors, and MID Server configurations to ensure accurate infrastructure
  discovery.
  
• Implement and support Service Mapping solutions for business
  services, applications, and infrastructure components.
  
• Configure Event Management components, including event rules,
  alert correlation, alert aggregation, event transformations, operational
  intelligence, and remediation workflows.
  
• Design and develop integrations between ServiceNow and
  enterprise tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, SolarWinds, Azure Monitor,
  AWS CloudWatch, AppDynamics, and other monitoring platforms.
  
• Develop custom applications, workflows, Flow Designer
  solutions, Script Includes, Business Rules, UI Policies, Client Scripts,
  and REST/SOAP integrations.
  
• Support CMDB implementation and maintenance activities,
  including CI class creation, relationship mapping, identification and
  reconciliation rules, and data quality improvements.
  
• Develop automation solutions using ServiceNow Orchestration,
  IntegrationHub, Flow Designer, and scripting frameworks.
  
• Troubleshoot complex platform issues related to Discovery,
  Service Mapping, Event Management, integrations, and CMDB operations.
  
• Create technical design documents, configuration guides,
  deployment procedures, and operational runbooks.
  
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning,
  backlog refinement, code reviews, and release management activities.
  
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect resolution,
  production deployments, and hypercare activities.
  
• Ensure platform performance, scalability, security, and
  adherence to ServiceNow development best practices.
  
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, network, and
  application teams to improve service visibility and operational
  efficiency.
  
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers
  and implementation team members.
  
• Support CMDB governance initiatives and continuous service
  improvement programs.
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 6-10 years of overall IT experience with 4+ years of hands-on
  ServiceNow development experience.
  
• Strong experience with ServiceNow ITOM modules including
  Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, and CMDB.
  
• Expertise in JavaScript, ServiceNow scripting, Flow Designer,
  IntegrationHub, and Service Portal development.
  
• Hands-on experience with MID Servers, Discovery Patterns,
  Probes, Sensors, and Service Mapping implementations.
  
• Experience developing REST and SOAP integrations with external
  systems and monitoring tools.
  
• Strong understanding of CMDB data models, CSDM, Identification
  and Reconciliation Engine (IRE), and CMDB governance.
  
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and
  GCP.
  
• Knowledge of infrastructure technologies including Windows,
  Linux, networking, virtualization, databases, and middleware platforms.
  
• Familiarity with ITIL processes including Incident, Change,
  Problem, and Configuration Management.
  
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies and
  DevOps practices.
  
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization
  skills.
