The opportunity 

As a Settlement Operations Officer in our Settlements & Customer Operations Division you will be part of an enthusiastic, fast paced and results driven team who pride themselves on efficiency and accuracy. In this entry level role, you will learn the ins and outs of loan account set ups for a wide range of loans types across Residential, Commercial and Construction real estate.

Reporting to the Settlement Operations Manager, you will be responsible for facilitating movement of funds to third parties and preparing relevant financial documentation. You will set up borrower accounts on completion of settlement, finalise direct debit schedules and issue customer correspondence. 

You will work both autonomously and collaboratively with your fellow Settlement Operations Officers, as well as with a range of other teams within and outside of the division including Settlements, Discharges, Customer Operations, Treasury and Portfolio teams.

The key responsibilities include: 

  • Coordinating end to end process for sending daily settlement and construction drawdown funding to third parties 
  • Preparing daily documentation to facilitate money movement
  • Processing all loan types post-settlement, including setting up borrower direct debit repayment schedules and issuing settlement and progress drawdown correspondence
  • Cross-check complex loan processing to ensure accounts are set up correctly and in line with internal procedures
  • Collaborating with other teams within the division and across the organisation.

About you:

You are highly motivated and enthusiastic with a team-based mindset.  You are someone who:

  • shows initiative, has strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail
  • can manage daily workload autonomously and work to deadlines
  • is willing to help colleagues achieve team KPIs
  • prides yourself on your verbal and written communication skills
  • is able to demonstrate proficiency with a variety of computer systems, including a working knowledge of Excel.

Prior experience in a similar administrative role within the financial services industry is advantageous but not essential.
